Stay connected with a round-up of recent events and news from schools in the Connect family.

Eden Park Primary & Nursery School

It was wonderful to welcome families in to Tadpoles Nursery for their spring outcome. The children gave their grown-ups a tour of the room, followed by some Easter themed crafts that were enjoyed by all.

Reception pupils have recently been exploring patterns. For a home learning activity, the children were tasked with making fruit kebabs to put their knowledge of patterns into practice. Isabella has loved cutting up the fruit and sharing the kebabs with her family.

Manadon Vale Primary School

The Reception classes have been learning about Ramadan and its importance to the Muslim faith as a month of reflection, community and family time. The children have been making lanterns, which symbolises light guiding the way.

As part of the science curriculum, Year 3 have been exploring muscles and how they help our limbs to move. Pupils made their own 'moving' arms, learning about what happens when muscles contract and relax.

Preston Primary School

Well done to pupils and staff who raised over £300 for Comic Relief. During an assembly, the children learnt how the funds support charities and projects in the UK and around the world.

To promote a love of reading, the school have hosted Rock Up and Read sessions across all year groups, encouraging families to come in and share books with their children.

Thornbury Primary School

Parents and carers were recently invited into school for the children to share their maths learning. It was fantastic to see so many of the grown-ups in attendance.

As part of the geography curriculum, Years 1/2 have been studying maps, atlases and globes. The children identified the United Kingdom on a globe, learning that the UK is made up of four countries.
