Eden Park Primary & Nursery School

Tadpoles Nursery have been on a walk around the school grounds to listen out for different sounds. The children could hear a digger, birds singing, other pupils laughing and an aeroplane flying overhead.

The Reception classes have been learning all about the tale of the Gingerbread Man. The children learned that he did not make good choices and discussed some better decisions that he could have made.

Manadon Vale Primary School

Thank you to Devonport High School for Girls for inviting Year 4 pupils to take part in a Chinese culture event. They learnt about the zodiac symbols, lunar New Year, porcelain and dragons.

The school recently ran their own writing competition, receiving 55 amazing entries! Miss Harris read through every story and selected her top two for each year group. The 7 overall winners were chosen by Mrs Gilbride and Mrs Paige, and each received a £5 book token. Well done to all the children who entered.

Preston Primary School

The Reception classes have enjoyed time outside in the school's Woodland Camp, listening to traditional tales and looking for props to link to the stories.

The school hosted a Teacher Research Group, inviting colleagues from other schools to share their knowledge around maths teaching. The aim was to discuss good practice for making maths accessible for all children so that they can be successful learners. The teachers came away with new ideas to implement in their own practice.

Thornbury Primary School

Years 1/2 have been learning about the importance of road safety. They discussed the important rules to keep themselves safe near traffic and used an activity to sort different scenarios.

Year 3 have been studying age and gender stereotyping, sharing ideas on what they think it is and how it affects people. The children looked at toys to try and spot any gender stereotypes, and created posters to show how older people break age stereotypes.
