Stay connected with a round-up of recent events and news from schools in the Connect family.

Cockington Primary School

A huge thank you to the PTA who helped with co-ordinating an Easter egg hunt and themed crafting competition, raising over £235 which will be used to enhance the school curriculum. We had some fantastic entries from pupils taking part.

Year 3 have been producing infographics based on their PSHE topic Healthy Me. The pupils’ work included images and text around being healthy and keeping safe, and we were very impressed with their designs.

Eggbuckland Vale Primary School

Pupils were thrilled to receive a visit from a cute little visitor called Winnie! The children took turns with having a cuddle and learned some tips on how to nurture and care for animals.

The Reception classes have been learning all about shapes. The children were so excited to have a go at being Shape Detectives, using their super sleuth senses to hunt around the school looking for shapes in disguise!

Leigham Primary School

Parents and carers of Year 6 pupils were invited in for a Learning Together session. The children shared their wonderful information reports about their hybrid creatures and then worked alongside the grown-ups to recreate their imaginary animals out of clay. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all.

A group of Year 5/6 children recently took part in the Indoor Rowing Championships 2024 at the Plymouth Life Centre. They had to use their excellent rowing skills and speed to compete against other schools across Plymouth. All the children put maximum effort into their rowing race and should be so proud of themselves. Thank you to Plymouth School Sport Partnership for organising such a fun event.

Widey Court Primary School

ABM have been appointed as the new caterers in all eight of the Trust schools. There has been lots of positive feedback from the children with a revamped menu, and children at Widey Court are being encouraged to make healthy choices from the salad bar with reward stickers.

Some of our pupils have been working towards ticking off their Schools’ Challenge miles whilst the sun is shining! These children will be participating in the Run Plymouth event on Sunday 28th April where they will complete their final mile. We look forward to families and staff coming along to support us on the day.
