Eden Park Primary & Nursery School

The children in Frogs Nursery have had a blast drawing around the outline of the bodies, then adding on eyes, mouth, hair, and clothes.

We were very proud to hear that one of our pupils has recently taken part in a local beach clean. Well done to Art who collected lots of plastic and talked with his Mum about the impact on the environment and importance of protecting our ocean. He is a fantastic ambassador for our pioneering Ocean Curriculum, which you can find out more about here.

Manadon Vale Primary School

Year 3 visited St Andrew's Church and the Plymouth Synagogue to learn more about where Christians and Jews worship. Pupils were amazed by the pictures in the stained glass and on the ceilings of the church. They then headed to the synagogue to try on Jewish garments and find out more about the roles during a service. The staff were very impressed by the wonderful behaviour and respect demonstrated by the children.

Year 2 have been adding and subtracting from 20 as part of their maths curriculum, as well as practising their times tables and showing understanding of greater than and less than.

Preston Primary School

The school have been fortunate to receive some training and funding from the Bikeability Trust, who provided 6 balance bikes and helmets. Year 1 have loved learning to ride the bikes and have grown in confidence.

As part of their Learning Enquiry When I Grow Up, the Reception classes have been visiting various organisations to find out about future job opportunities. The children visited RNLI Exmouth to tour the station and find out about the different roles. Pupils learned how the volunteer lifeboat crew work as a team, look after their specialist equipment and maintain the lifeboat.

Thornbury Primary School

Year 4 have been immersing themselves in the Ocean Curriculum, by getting themselves into a tangle when creating a huge food chain! It was a fun activity which demonstrated how all the ocean plants and creatures are inter-linked.

Year 1/2 have also been busy exploring our Ocean Curriculum. They have been looking at different objects found at the beach, sorting and classifying them into groups.
